How green is this valley

Hi all,
a beautiful, lush green valley after monsoon in chaukori,a small village in pithoragarh district of uttaranchal, approx 480 km. from delhi.

Chitai Temple

Chitai Temple (Near Nainital/Almora in Uttaranchal, North India) is dedicated to Lord Golu. The people of Kumaon worship him as a Justice God. Saying goes that whatever wish you have if fullfilled once you convay the same to Lord Golu, here at the temple. Once a wish is fulfilled people hang little bells in this temple. Therefore there are thousands of little bells hanging there. The view of the Himalayas is extremely beautiful from here. This temple is 8 kms away by walk through a beautiful pine forest and also has a motorable road.

Trust me the sheer number of bells (my guess is more then 10000) of all possible size would surely make your haed spin here. Almost made me wonder as what would happen if all them start ringing at the same time :-)

Hard work in the Himalayas

While approaching Ramni village, our last destination of the Curzon Trail, on the Hymalaias, we were having closer views of the cultivated fields and the patterns they formed in the landscape.
I noticed that in these places, women do most of the hard work and you can see that well in this image.
Most of these cultivations are a kind of crop, named millet. You can see a closer view of the millet from another village, Pana, here.

Jhula Devi Temple

Jhula Devi temple, situated near Ranikhet,is famous for these innumerable bells, which devotees offer to the deity.Jhula Devi is believed to protect villagers from wild animals and SHE is placed in a swing inside the temple...hence the name jhula(swing)devi.

Nanda Temple

A refreshing trek of 3 kms from Munsiyari. One can enjoy horse riding on this trek. You can cherish a amazing 360 degree view of snow cap mountains from here.
We have enjoyed a lot there.
It really feels like heaven there..
Enjoy..

Hi,
this pic was taken in my recent trip to kumaon hills, while going to binsar we stopped in Almora for sometime ,suddenly the weather changed and the whole area was engulfed by clouds,it was an ethereal experience as a minute back the whole valley could be seen and after a minute one couldnt even see whats at 5 feet.

रानीखेत का बाजार का नजारा देखे

नौनीताल का नजारे

पहाड़ का नजारे

सुन्दर दिअर्श्य
